Did every one enjoy the press Newsday last Thursday?!
At the start of the task, I wasn’t really looking forward to going off and creating a 4 page newspaper, as I knew we didn’t have much time to do it and there were tons of stories to copy taste, so I was a bit dubious about the whole thing…But I actually had fun doing it and thought it was great experience to be put under pressure like that in order to create something to a strict deadline.
I worked with the lovely Alice and Emma, and even though there were only 3 of us, our paper turned out pretty well! I enjoyed going through everyone else’s stories and picking the best ones, then editing them appropriately (although I felt a bit mean changing stories that people in the class had obviously worked hard on, but I guess that’s the name of the game!)
It was such an adrenaline rush trying to get it set out on the page, printed and back to TAB9 on time, but we managed it in the end woo!
Ally said we had a good mix of stories on the right pages so it was good to know that we didn’t do too badly! I’m now looking forward to the Radio newsday, but I have a feeling that we will be put under even more pressure, but I guess that gives us the best kind of insight into what being a real journalist is like.
